When I started my career in the beauty and fashion industry, I was excited to be joining a field with different avenues that seem to always be changing.
I have been a licensed cosmetologist since 1993 and have made my focus education for personal and professional growth.
I have been strongly influenced by the advanced training I have participated in at the Vidal Sassoon academy in Santa Monica, Ca. Courses at the academy are one week of intense training. I took part in the Classic cutting course and the creative cutting course. These classes go full circle, starting at customer service and consultation pulling it together in strong technical skill. Their philosophy is to combine classic cutting techniques and modern trendy styles fitted to match the lifestyle needs of clients to give them a style that works best for the features, hair type and skin tone. I have also had the opportunity to attend several Matrix color training classes on color theory and application techniques. In addition to my advanced technical training, I have spent time focusing on salon management, customer service, and product knowledge. I have taken several product knowledge classes on guest lines such as Redken, Tigi, Paul Mitchell, Nioxen, and Pureology. I am also certified for education on American Crew products.
During my time in salon management I learned great communication skills, professional work ethics, and the ability to look at a salon experience from a guest perspective. I believe that my advanced training and experience in the industry allow me to meet each and every clients hair care needs with exceptional customer care and technical skill. I look forward to continuing my career at the Grotto and experiencing growth in clientele and education.
